Initial Static Compliance as a 28-day Mortality Parameter in Patients with COVID-19

Abstract Introduction: Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is characterized by the rapid onset of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure and reduced system compliance. Conflicting results have been presented to consider static compliance pulmonary shunt levels predictors mortality. Objective: To analyze initial as a 28-day mortality parameter patients with ARDS due COVID-19 intensive care unit. Method: Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study. Records COVID-19, over 18 years age, who required mechanical ventilation between 2020 2021, were analyzed. Static was analyzed, relating it oxygen saturation on admission, gender, A descriptive analysis carried out, addition Mann Whitney U, Kendall’s Tau-b, Spearman’s correlation, support statistical program SPSS version 24, considering p-value less than .05 significant.
